Open Bible Study Lesson 1

1.    2 Peter 1:3, “according as His divine power has given unto us all things that pertain to life (physical) and godliness (spiritual), through the knowledge of Him that has called us to glory and virtue”

From this passage has God given us everything we need for life (physical) and godliness (spiritual)?

Since all has been provided through Jesus Christ and His work, do you need any additional information other than the Bible?

2.    Ephesians 2:14-15, “For He is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of partition between us; having abolished in His flesh the enmity (hostility), even the law of commandments contained in ordinances, for to make in Himself of twain one new man, so making peace”

Colossians 2:11-14, “In whom you are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in the putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ, buried with Him in baptism, wherein also you are risen with Him through faith in the operation of God, who has raised Him from the dead and you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, has he quickened together with him having forgiven you all your trespasses, blotting out the hand written ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to the cross”

From these two passages, has God abolished the law with its commandments and regulations?

Were the handwritten ordinances (Ten Commandments) taken out of the way at the time Jesus died on the cross?
