P.U.S.H…Pray…Until…Something…Happens…when praying just report for duty…do not give God instructions.   When praying…you don’t need to repeat yourself…God already knows what you need… It is written… But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions (empty repeating), as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knows what things ye have need of, before ye ask him...Matthew 6:7-8   We do not need to remind God of anything… And this is the confidence that we have in Him (Jesus), that, if we ask any thing according to His will, He heareth us: And if we know that He hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of Him...1 John 5:14-15.   We can always approach His throne and are told too… For we have not a high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly (with confidence) unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need...Hebrews 4:15-16… Pray without ceasing...1 Thessalonians 5:17. Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus...Philippians 4:6-7.   If you pray in the morning when you wake up…at noon…at the evening…then have you stopped praying or have you prayed all day long…? We can be confident God hears our desires and our petitions when we pray. In fact, He is so Great He already knows our needs. His peace is given through prayer.   It is written… Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that askes receives; and he that seeks finds; and to him that knocks it shall be opened. Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? A way to increase our faith…   …And when Jesus was entered into Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion (soldier over 100 men), beseeching (entreating) Him, And saying, Lord, my servant lies at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented. …And Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal him. The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed. For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goes; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he does it. When Jesus heard it, He marveled (was astonished), and said to them that followed, Verily (truly) I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel… …And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven. But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go your way; and as you hast believed, so be it done unto you. And his servant was healed in the selfsame hour...Matthew 8:5-13.   When we pray like Jesus told us are we not doing the same thing as this Roman Soldier…we are on our knees…showing respect to our Creator (entreating)…approaching in His presence…distance is removed. We are asking for a good thing according to Jesus will…and Jesus can heal from a distance…just as He did for this Roman Soldier. It is just words for Jesus…but it is healing and blessing for us.   Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. For we have not a high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace (undeserved favors), that we may obtain mercy (punishment forgiven) and find grace to help in time of need...Hebrews 4:14-16.   And this is the confidence that we have in Him (Jesus), that, if we ask any thing according to His will, He hear us: And if we know that He hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of Him...1 John 5:14-15. Do you major in the major things of God…? Try…A…Pause for Prayer and Devotional a Wellsaid Christian Devotional about the teachings of Jesus…   First things first…have you done the most important…obedience to God’s word… Not everyone that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, (lip service) shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that does the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied (told the truth of your word) in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from Me, ye that work iniquity (work apart from God)...Matthew 7:21-23.   Building a congregation will not get you into heaven…doing many wonderful works like building church buildings will not get you into Heaven…preaching a sermon will not get you into Heaven… getting rid of devils will not get you into Heaven…UNLESS it is the will of the Father…Unless you are “In Christ” working with  Him and allowing Him to work through you…Have you done the first things first…listen to what Jesus told a Jew named Nicodemus… Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again...John 3:5-7.   Have you been born of the water and the Spirit like Jesus told this man…yes or no? Jesus said…He that believes and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believes not shall be damned...Mark 16:16. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that does evil hate the light (does not want to do it Jesus’ way but the way they think is better) neither comes to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that does truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest (made known either good or evil), that they are wrought (sanctified…established or nullified) in God...John 3:19-21.   People do not want to admit or confess they have been wrong…so do not come to Jesus… Jesus said people hate the light because it means they must admit they do not understand good or evil but will have to accept Jesus’ judgement of their deeds…as if they have never really obeyed or done God’s will…but their own will and called it God’s will. Have they done what they thought God wanted or perhaps have done that which they thought was evil or done their own moral compass. They will have to admit their ways lead to hopeless end…are not God’s ways…their morals are not God’s morals. In other words…every “good” or bad thing I have ever done…when I came to God, I surrendered all of it to Jesus will. Many of my deeds were reprovable and some I had to do no more…I had to confess I was wrong and learn to do better or God’s way.   Have you been baptized into Christ…yes or no? If not, then how you know there is no difference than before and after baptism…either way at least you have done what Jesus said about being born of the water and the Spirit. Many do not believe you have to be born of the water and the Spirit in baptism…many will be lost. I felt peace with God and creation…it felt good knowing I was at peace with the Creator for once in my life…hope you to will know peace with God one day.   Prayer Father please continue to convert me and reprove my works, so that I am In You and You in me…please I have been baptized. Do people have the Spirit of Jesus or of the Accuser…?   Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them...Matthew 7:15-20.   If all they do is accuse you of not being good enough…if all they remind you of is your unworthiness….if all they do is accuse you of not being Christian…then are they Christians themselves…yes or no? The accuser is always accusing you of having a speck in your eye…and offer no way to remove it!   For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. And why beholds thou the mote (speck of dust) that is in thy brother's eye, but considers not the beam (log) that is in thine own eye? Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote (speck of imperfection) out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam (large imperfection) is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam (large imperfection) out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote (speck) out of thy brother's eye. Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you...Matthew 7:2-6.   So even if you are a Christian…stop being a spectator beholding the speck in another’s eyes instead offer encouragement on how to change and be better. It is easy to point out flaws but which is better and not bitter…pointing out flaws or offering an encouragement of how to do better. I mean if a brother blasts you for your behavior saying repent…but offers no prescription on how to do or be better then what has he done but be an accuser. So if you tear down a sister or brother do not forget to build up on how to overcome. If you do not personally know how to overcome…then it would be of none concern of you. Three reminders from Jesus teaching…   Worry not child of God… But if God doth so clothes the grass of the field, which to-day is, and to-morrow is cast into the oven, shall He not much more cloth you, O you of little faith? Be not therefore anxious, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? For after all these things do the Gentiles (unbelievers) seek; for your heavenly Father knows that you have need of all these things. But seek you first His kingdom, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Be not therefore anxious for the morrow: for the morrow (future) will be anxious for itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof...Matthew 6:30-34. If you change your now then you will change your future…your destiny is decided by your life chooses not a mystical force. Jesus talking to the Jewish people of His day told them God would provide. There is no need to worry because God will not fail you unless you are in rebellion to His commandments…then He lets you fall on your face until you return to Him…on your knees. Do you know the golden rule…you shall love your neighbor as yourself? It is called the golden rule in my opinion because when you practice no ill will towards anyone then you develop a pure heart that will see God and His intentions.   Judge not child of God…your judgment will be on your head too… Judge not, that you be not judged. For with what judgment you judge, you shall be judged: and with what measure you mete (use), it shall be measured unto you. And why behold you the mote that is in your brother's eye (consider others sins), but consider not the beam (the bigger sin) that is in your own eye? (the things you could improve on) Or how wilt you say to your brother, Let me cast out the mote (sin) out of your eye; and lo (behold…look), the beam (sin) is in your own eye? You hypocrite (actor), cast out first the beam out of your own eye; and then will you see clearly to cast out the mote out of your brother's eye. Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast your pearls before the swine, lest haply they trample them under their feet, and turn and rend you...Matthew 7:1-6. Be careful in weighing other people for their behavior…because if you send someone to hell for cussing then slip up and cuss guess where you deserve to go? Instead purify yourself and pray for those that are in error in your opinion to be better than they were. If you correct a fool then you will get a fool’s wrath…or correction…humble opinion.   Get right with God and your worry will be lessened…unless your judgmental…then be praying for mercy because you deserve the same. Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: for every one that askes receives; and he that seeks finds; and to him that knocks it shall be opened. Or what man is there of you, who, if his son shall ask him for a loaf, will give him a stone; or if he shall ask for a fish, will give him a serpent? All things therefore whatsoever you would that men should do unto you, even so do you also unto them: for this is the law and the prophets. Enter you in by the narrow gate (small): for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many are they that enter in thereby. For narrow (small) is the gate, and straitened the way(difficult…it is difficult to practice the truth in a world full of liars), that leadeth unto life, and few are they that find it...Matthew 7:7-14. Are you one which truly treats others as yourself…yes or no? Are forgiving and kind…yes or no? Are you one which judges others as not being good like you…yes or no? It is human to error but Divine to forgive.   The Scribes and the Pharisees For I say unto you, that except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you shall in no wise (in no wisdom) enter into the kingdom of heaven...Matthew 5:20.   The Scribes Description In Jesus day a copy of the Religious Laws or Books of the Bible had to be hand written. If you wanted a scroll of, say Isaiah or Jerimiah then you would have had to have a hand written copy. The Scribes were the people which copied the Law for others to have a copy. They would have an original and a person would read the original Book…while those hearing the reading would handwrite a copy of the original scroll. These people were not the Priests but knew the Law because they hand wrote it. These people would offer their opinions on the matter and become religious leaders…people would follow all their ways instead of what the Priest would say. These people were called Scribes.   The Pharisees Description The Pharisees…were not so fair you see…means literally a separatist. The considered themselves to be more righteous because of their own teaching which did not come from the Priests. The Priest should have been doing the services in the temple and the preaching not the Pharisees. The nation Israel was under rule of the Roman Empire and the Romans used the Pharisees to control the Jewish Religion. The Priests should have been doing the preaching and the teaching but Israel had been disobedient and was under the Roman’s rule. These scribes and Pharisees were doing the teaching and ruling of the Jewish people…the Romans did not care about the truth but only peace and allowed Jews to rule Jews and the Pharisees were on center stage about being righteous before God with all their own Judgements…they took the place of the Priests which should have been doing service and the preaching and the teaching for God. The Pharisees were known for their righteous opinions…Jesus said do what they tell you and you will be more righteous than they are for they say the Law but do not do what they say…in other words they do not apply with mercy and sound judgement.   Jesus warning to the scribes and Pharisees Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! (those which are actors) for you tithe mint and anise and cummin, and have left undone the weightier matters of the law, justice, and mercy, and faith: but these you ought to have done, and not to have left the other undone. You blind guides, that strain out the gnat, and swallow the camel...Matthew 23:23-24!   Jesus condemned the scribes and the Pharisees because a sinner found not much mercy but had to offer up full burdens instead of finding mercy they found condemnation and heavy religious burdens to be right with God.   Remember Jesus said…Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy...Matthew 5:7. All we leave this life with is the lessons we learned…or spurned until burned.   God will reveal the truth so you can be more like Him…learn your lessons well…The Creator disciplines us…to be more like Him… Trust in Jehovah with all your heart, And lean not upon thine own understanding: In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will direct your paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes; Fear Jehovah, and depart from evil: It will be health to your navel, And marrow to your bones. Honor Jehovah with your substance, And with the first-fruits of all your increase: So shall your barns be filled with plenty, And your vats shall overflow with new wine. My son, despise not the chastening (correction) of Jehovah; Neither be weary of His reproof: For whom Jehovah loves he reproves; Even as a father the son in whom he delights...Proverbs 3:5-12.   God disciplines us…and scourges (whips us)…to be more like Him. and you have forgotten the exhortation which reasons with you as with sons, My son, regard not lightly the chastening of the Lord, Nor faint when you art reproved of Him; For whom the Lord loves he chastens (corrects), And scourges (whips) every son whom He receives. It is for chastening that you endure; God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom his father chastens not? But if you are without chastening (instruction and correction), whereof all have been made partakers, then are you bastards, and not sons. Furthermore, we had the fathers of our flesh to chasten us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live...Hebrews 12:5-9? God is the Great I am of all that Is…He is the I am of all that is. If you are experiencing trouble then you better learn your lesson quickly. Look at everyday as a lesson from God to make or improve you to be more like Him in morals…character…and faith or done it before I have the power (authority) to do it again. He is always the example for us to be like and we will never be able to correct God but instead stand in need of constant instruction and discipline and correction. We need to have a what would Jesus do for all that we do and say…when is the last time you asked the Lord what would you do if you were me?   Jesus promises us… Jesus therefore said to those Jews that had believed Him, If you abide in my word, then are you truly my disciples; and you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free…for the truth's sake which abides in us, and it shall be with us forever...John 8:31-32...2 John 1:2. Christians are not left ignorant of the truth but many will not practice the truth or want the Lord to do it for them not with them and many do practice the truth revealed. So when things are not going well…trust in the Lord and be better nor bitter. God does not call the qualified…He equips and qualifies the called.   God can and will create you whatever you need to be righteous like Him. For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding. He lays up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly. He keeps the paths of judgment, and preserves the way of his saints. Then shalt you understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yes, every good path. When wisdom enters into your heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto you soul; Discretion shall preserve you, understanding shall keep you: To deliver thee from the way of the evil man, from the man that speaks froward things; Who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness; Who rejoice to do evil, and delight in the frowardness of the wicked; Whose ways are crooked, and they froward in their paths...Proverbs 2:6-15.   Do you love to be wise like Jesus…understanding like Jesus…to walk in righteousness like Jesus…yes or no?   Love like Jesus… And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: And you shalt love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength (effort): this is the first commandment. And the second is like, namely this, You shalt love your neighbor as yourself. There is none other commandment greater than these...Mark 12:29-31.   Jesus teaching the Jews in the Nation of Israel…being from the tribe of Judah and a Jew, taught the Creator is one Authority and you are to love Him first and foremost and then to love your neighbors as yourself. Remember love works no ill will towards its neighbor. The truth will set you free…   Promise divine which never can fail…   Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are you my disciples indeed; And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free...John 8:31-32 The truth will set you free from the lie you do not need Jesus, that stealing is not sin, that bearing false witness is not sin, that coveting is not sin, that adultery is not sin, that not honoring your dad or mom is not sin, that murder is not sin, that blaspheming is not sin, or idolatry is not sin…that you do not need Jesus…to have other gods…that not loving your neighbor is not a sin.   Jesus is the Truth which sets us free from evil… Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me...John 14:6. Jesus died on the cross and was raised from the dead so you and I could be free to practice all the good God intended us to fulfill our plan and purpose. You do not have to lie…steal…murder…covet…commit adultery…blaspheme…ignore your mom and dad’s needs…commit idolatry…have other sources (gods)…you can live your life and love your neighbor as yourself and be blessed for it. You do not have to out scheme your neighbor you can be free to love your neighbor because Jesus died and was raised from the dead.   Jesus died and was raised so Christians are free to love God and our neighbor… Owe no man anything, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law. For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. I repented and won through Jesus Christ the victory over this world…   Jesus the Advocate…the Lawyer for your soul... For whatsoever is born of God overcomes the world: and this is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith...1 John 5:4. My little children, these things write I unto you, that you sin not. And if any man sin, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: And he is the propitiation (forever atoning sacrifice) for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. And hereby we do know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. He that saith, I know Him, and keeps not His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in Him...1 John 2:1-4.   The Judgement So…picture a court scene…the accuser begins the accusations…satan…He has broken several of the Commandments…to the Judge…our Creator the Father. He begins by stating everything you have done accurately to the court and Judge. He has stolen…He has lied…He has blasphemed Your Honorable name…He has coveted…etc… the longer the accuser talks the more your head hangs down in shame... because you are guilty. When he is done accusing you…you know you deserve just punishment and hell will be your forever home…but then your Advocate…your Lawyer… Jesus Christ stands up to defend His…He speaks up to the court…and the Judge and begins to say…these accusations should not be punished Father because I have already atoned for these crimes against this court…Father please see Ben (or your name) as Me before you make your judgment. We have already made amends and there is no punishment needed…for even I have laid down my life as a just punishment for this man’s sins and therefore there is no punishment deserved…then the Father bangs the gavel and says not guilty of punishment…you are free.   Encouragement to make Jesus your advocate… Have you won the victory? Have you made Jesus the Advocate (lawyer) with our Father…yes or no? I have the day I was baptized and died to myself and was washed and born of God and began living a life for God. Have you been baptized and clothed with Jesus Christ…yes or no? For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ...Galatians 3:27. After you are baptized…God sees Jesus’ work on the cross and His Righteousness not you…so that you are seen as Jesus and sinless although we are learning not to sin…and to become Holy like God, yet because we are but children in diapers does God tolerate and hate our sins until we learn or are taught not to do them again until Jesus comes back to judge the world.
