You ever heard a preacher say miracles do not happen today?
Many of these also espouse the doctrine Jesus never drank real alcoholic wine…they use the passage of 1 Cor 13…to justify their position there are no miracles today…many will say we pray for you…but they are no such thing as spiritual gifts anymore…
The passage some preachers use is…when that which is perfect…is here then spiritual gifts cease…
1Co 13:8-13 KJV Charity never fails: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away. 9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. 10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away. 11 When I was a child, I Spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. 12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. 13 And now abides faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity…
They say see when that which is perfect is here…the bible is perfect…scripture is perfect…so when the finished revelation of the pattern was revealed…no more spiritual gifts because we have the complete record of the New Agreement between God and creation…1 Cor 13:10…saying scripture is the thing which is perfect…but scripture has always been around…in 1 Cor 13:10…the Holy Spirit means the New Heavens and the New Earth…not finished scripture already written…by the way when did it end…if that which is perfect is scripture then it would have to be when John penned Revelation…assuming you hold to when prophecy has ended…yet the Two faithful witnesses are prophets in the end…therefore I conclude that which is perfect…is the New Heavens and the New Earth…Isaiah spoke of first…Peter spoke of…and John in the Revelation spoke of…the New Heavens and the New Earth…
Isa 65:17-18 KJV For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind. 18 But be ye glad and rejoice for ever in that which I create: for, behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy.
2Pe 3:9-13 KJV The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. 10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. 11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, 12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? 13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
Rev 21:1-8 KJV And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. 2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. 4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. 5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. 6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. 7 He that overcomes shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. 8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
In these three prophets’ writings…they each spoke of New Heavens and a New Earth…John was the last of them…Peter and Isaiah all spoke of the New Heavens and the New Earth that will have no unrighteousness…or is perfect…I conclude…that which is perfect is the New Heavens and the New Earth…please respond with any questions…comments…
Father please confirm this truth to us and please meet our soul’s deepest needs and our spirit’s deepest needs and our flesh’s deepest needs…in Jesus of Nazareth’s name amen.
