For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time... And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest (made known) in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory... This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief...(1 Timothy 2:5-6, 1 Timothy 3:16, 1 Timothy 1:15).

Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not high-minded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy; That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate; Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life... But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment (clothing) let us be therewith content. But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows…1 Timothy 6:17-19, 1 Timothy 6:6-10.

It is written…Then Peter (an Apostle of Jesus) said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call...Acts 2:38-39.

Is God calling you rich or poor…have you been baptized and received the Holy Spirit of promise…yes or no? For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ...Galatians 3:27.

This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief...1 Timothy 1:15. And He spoke this parable unto them, saying, What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if He lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until He find it? And when He hath found it, He lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And when He cometh home, He calls together His friends and neighbors, saying unto them, Rejoice with Me; for I have found my sheep which was lost. I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repents, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance...Luke 15:3-7.

What is repentance…it is 180-degree turn around…a turning from self to God…from lies to truth…from self to Jesus. It is a change in behavior…a change in direction…a change of mind that results in right deed…righteousness. Then Jesus said to those Jews which believed on Him, If ye continue in My word, then are you My disciples indeed; And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free...John 8:31-32. How many of us do not even read His word…to know what He has said on the matter…to have thus it is written for the actions of ourselves?

Are you sanctified through baptism…have you been baptized into Christ’s death burial and resurrection…yes or no? Baptism puts you into Christ…a repentant life keeps you in Christ…are you remaining faithful to your commitments to Jesus…and the Father…yes or no?

…I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that He is able to keep that which I have committed unto Him against that day...2 Timothy 1:12.

Prayer

Father please meet our soul’s deepest need for repentance and faith in Your only Son Jesus…in Jesus of Nazareth’s name amen.

Learning from the first letter to the Thessalonians…

And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we do toward you: To the end He may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all His saints...1 Thessalonians 3:12-13.

For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that you should abstain from fornication (sex outside of marriage): That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honor; Not in the lust of concupiscence (bad things), even as the Gentiles which know not God: That no man go beyond and defraud his brother in any matter: because that the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also have forewarned you and testified. For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness. He therefore that despises, despises not man, but God, who hath also given unto us His Holy Spirit. But as touching brotherly love you need not that I write unto you: for you yourselves are taught of God to love one another. And indeed you do it toward all the brethren which are in all Macedonia: but we beseech (beg) you, brethren, that you increase more and more; And that you study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you; That you may walk honestly toward them that are without, and that you may have lack of nothing....1 Thessalonians 4:3-12.

Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly (law unto themselves), comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men. See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men. Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. Quench not the Spirit. Despise not prophesyings (preaching forth of truth). Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. Abstain from all appearance of evil. And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ...1 Thessalonians 5:14-23.

These Christians had turned from superstitious idols to the living God…they were given instruction on how to sanctify themselves and exhorted and encouraged to love like Jesus…Go and do likewise…

Prayer

Father please preserve our body, soul, and spirit blameless unto the coming of Jesus in Judgement…and meet our deepest needs of our soul, body, and spirit…in Jesus of Nazareth’s name amen.
