Learning from the first letter to the Thessalonians…

And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we do toward you: To the end He may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all His saints...1 Thessalonians 3:12-13.

For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that you should abstain from fornication (sex outside of marriage): That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honor; Not in the lust of concupiscence (bad things), even as the Gentiles which know not God: That no man go beyond and defraud his brother in any matter: because that the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also have forewarned you and testified. For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness. He therefore that despises, despises not man, but God, who hath also given unto us His Holy Spirit. But as touching brotherly love you need not that I write unto you: for you yourselves are taught of God to love one another. And indeed you do it toward all the brethren which are in all Macedonia: but we beseech (beg) you, brethren, that you increase more and more; And that you study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you; That you may walk honestly toward them that are without, and that you may have lack of nothing....1 Thessalonians 4:3-12.

Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly (law unto themselves), comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men. See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men. Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. Quench not the Spirit. Despise not prophesyings (preaching forth of truth). Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. Abstain from all appearance of evil. And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ...1 Thessalonians 5:14-23.

These Christians had turned from superstitious idols to the living God…they were given instruction on how to sanctify themselves and exhorted and encouraged to love like Jesus…Go and do likewise…

Why were are the 3 shepherds called the three wise men…

When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy. And when they were come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped Him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto Him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh. And being warned of God in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed into their own country another way...Matthew 2:10-12.

They gave gifts to help a struggling family that a king Herod was trying to kill so they could be provided for and escape the snare. How much value could we learn from this wise move from the three shepherds…gave gifts that would supply a small fortune perhaps enough to raise Jesus…this is why people call them the three wise men which gave gold…frankincense…and myrrh. They also worshipped the young Child and they obeyed the warning of the God in a dream! Wise men indeed.

Father

Please meet our soul’s deepest needs so we may prosper and be in health as our soul prospers in Jesus of Nazareth’s name amen.

Kindness...

But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil. Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful...Luke 6:35-36.

Love suffers long, and is kind; love envies not; love parades not itself, is not puffed up...1 Corinthians 13:4

And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you...Ephesians 4:32.

Kindness is a language anyone can hear…see…and feel. Kindness is love…Kindness is forgiveness. Have you forgiven all those who done you wrong…yes or no? You find healing when you forgive. I found that saying a forgave them helps each time you remember the wrong done you because it puts it in the past instead of burying the hatchet and leaving the handle sticking out. So the next time you remember your brother or sister has done you wrong say to yourself I have forgave them.

Have you sought forgaveness from the ones you have offended…

Therefore if you bring your gift to the altar, and there remember that your brother hath ought (reason to accuse) against you; Leave there your gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift....Matthew 5:23-24

Christmas is nearly here and many will see other family members…would it not be a good time to seek forgiveness if you have done someone wrong then why not seek their forgiveness this Christmas?

Prayer

Father please forgive us because we have forgiven those who have done us wrong…and please remind us of any we need to seek forgiveness from…and meet our soul’s deepest needs…In Jesus of Nazareth’s name amen.
