What is faith?


You have to believe the message is from God…


Heb 11:1, now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen…Rom 4:5, but to him that works not, but believes on him that justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness


Rom 12:3, for I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, according as God has dealt to every man the measure of faith


Faith is knowing God’s word and trusting in it to guide you to salvation in Christ.


Col 1:23, if you continue in the faith grounded and settled and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which you have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven, whereof I Paul am made a minister…2 Tim 1:13, hold fast the form of sound words, which you have heard of me, in faith and love which is in Christ…2 Tim 3:15-17, and that from a child you have known the holy scriptures, which are able to make you wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works


Example of real faith


Faith is believing God will, look at the centurion, who said only speak the word (Matt 8:8)…Heb 11:7, by faith Noah, being warned of God of things not yet seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house, by which he condemned the world and became the heir of righteousness which is by faith…Romans 1:17, for therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith, as it is written the just shall live by faith.


What Faith is not


Faith is not a feeling


Paul is an example that our feelings can lead us astray, he persecuted the Christians as a Jew in good conscience but was fighting against Jesus Christ. Jesus appeared to him and Paul repented and began to preach Jesus. (Acts 22:4, Gal 1:23) …


Your conscience, or feeling good about yourself can be corrupted, listen,


1 Tim 4:1-2, Now the Spirit speaks expressly, that in latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils speaking lies in hypocrisy having their conscience seared with a hot iron…Eph 4:17-20, this I say therefore and testify in the Lord, that you henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk in the emptiness of their minds, having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart who being past feeling have given themselves over to lasciviousness (lusts) to work all uncleanness with greediness but you have not so learned Christ


Faith is not by works or outside of Christ


Rom 9:32, wherefore? Because they sought is not by faith, but as it was by the works of the law, for they stumbled at the stumbling stone…Heb 11:7, by faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house, by which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith…Eph 3:17, that Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith, that you being rooted and grounded in love may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth, and length and depth and height and to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge that you might be filled with the fullness of God


Faith is not signs and wonders


Mark 13:22, for false Christs and false prophets shall arise and shall show signs and wonders to seduce if it were possible even the elect…2 Thes 2:9-12, even him whose coming is after the working of satan with all power and signs and wonders and with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved… For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world-rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Eph 6:12 ASV


Why would God allow people to experience signs and wonders from the power of satan?


Listen: 2 Thes 2:11-12, and for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie that they all might be damned who believe not the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.


God says you will not believe me and my words so I will allow satan to convince you that your ways are right by only believing and receiving a lie…which is a false reality or falsehood. Faith is knowing God and His words are right and true. God is not the author of confusion (1 Cor 14:33), the devil is. So leave the liar and seek the Truth!


Father help us love the truth more than anything in Jesus of Nazareth’s name amen.

Do you have a vision…a goal…a dream…a future…How will you achieve the truth and righteousness of your goal…or dream…or future?


Mat 6:19-24 ASV Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon the earth, where moth and rust consume, and where thieves break through and steal: 20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth consume, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: 21 for where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. 22 The lamp of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. 23 But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you be darkness (not from Jesus of Nazareth), how great is the darkness! 24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon (money or worldly treasure).


When you give money…do you despise having to feed the poor…when you give to God do you despise having to…or do you despise you have to work to feed yourselves…or do you hate to give money…or do you hate to serve God…do you hate God or do you obey (love) God? God never ask us to harm ourselves and never asks us to do wrong…it is safe to love our Creator and His only Son Jesus of Nazareth. Does your goal or dream or vision for your future align with Jesus and His teachings…yes or no?


Mat 7:7-14 ASV Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: 8 for every one that asks receives; and he that seeks finds; and to him that knocks it shall be opened. 9 Or what man is there of you, who, if his son shall ask him for a loaf, will give him a stone; 10 or if he shall ask for a fish, will give him a serpent? 11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father who is in heaven give good things to them that ask him? 12 All things therefore whatsoever ye would that men should do unto you, even so do ye also unto them: for this is the law and the prophets. 13 Enter ye in by the narrow gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many are they that enter in thereby. 14 For narrow is the gate, and straitened (difficult) the way, that leads unto life, and few are they that find it.


So have you asked Jesus who is the Author of eternal salvation to bless you with your goal which should align with His teachings so you can do what is right and true by God your Creator yes or no?


Jesus said…Mat 5:6 ASV Blessed are they that hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.


Jesus said…John 3:19-21 And this is the judgment, that the Light is come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the Light; for their works were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hates the Light, and cometh not to the Light, lest his works should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth the Truth cometh to the Light, that his works may be made manifest, that they have been wrought in God.


…Jesus died and was raised from the dead so you could repent or turn away from doing wrong or evil deeds the bible calls sin…such as lying…stealing…coveting (wanting what God has not given you)… Jesus died so all your wrongs could be forgiven…and will teach you how never to do a wrong thing again…but we have to bring to Him all of our past deeds…Jesus when He adopts you also adopts your history…yes that lie you told in first grade…Jesus got to forgive that too….Jesus gives you a plan and purpose…a future…Jesus said…


Jesus said…Matthew 18:3-4 and said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye turn, and become as little children, ye shall in no wise enter into the kingdom of heaven. 4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.


…We have to be Daddy Jesus may I…Daddy Jesus can I…Daddy Jesus will you…Daddy Jesus look what they did to me…We have to put Jesus first and really are we all not just children in diapers before Jesus?


Father please meet our souls’ deepest needs…heal our sin sickness and administer the remedy…prescription…and cure we need for all our needs to be right with You and Your only Son…may we prosper and be in health as our soul prospers in Truth and righteousness…in Jesus of Nazareth’s name amen.

…discovering our plan and purpose in Jesus of Nazareth the Christ, have you asked the Author of Salvation to author you…a plan of salvation, redemption and reconciliation…yes or no?


Eph 1:3-9 ASV Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Who hath blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ: 4 even as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be Holy and without blemish before Him in love: 5 having foreordained us unto adoption as sons through Jesus Christ unto Himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, 6 to the praise of the glory of His grace, which He freely bestowed on us in the Beloved: 7 in whom we have our redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace, 8 which He made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence, 9 making known unto us the mystery of his will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Him


Rom 8:28-31 ASV And we know that to them that love God all things work together for good, even to them that are called according to His purpose. 29 For whom He foreknew, He also foreordained to be conformed to the image of his Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren: 30 and whom He foreordained, them He also called: and whom He called, them He also justified: and whom He justified, them He also glorified. 31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us?

Joh 14:6 ASV Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, and the truth, and the life: no one cometh unto the Father, but by Me.


Everything created has a plan and purpose…God is His wisdom has allowed us to “create” things like electricity and magnetism…really we are discovering what He has made…God made man in His own image…meaning we have the attributes of God…we have hands and feet…we get angry when someone lies to us…God has emotions and we have emotions…so have you considered what is your plan and purpose?


Everyone today is born after the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus the Christ of Nazareth…therefore God no longer considers the Old Law the Authority. Jesus Christ is the Only Son of our Creator made a man, born of a virgin so no human could say they were Greater…Jesus never broke the minimum requirement for a Jew…the Ten Commandments. He was punished as if He had broken all Ten Commandments…in order for you and I to be forgiven. Jesus died and was raised so you could never choose to do an evil thing again and He will reveal the truth to you so you can be right with God and reconcile your darkness to Him the Light…because we are born after Jesus resurrection and Jesus becoming and being the Author of Salvation…we are predetermined to be Christians if you decide to be saved from the punishment and wrath of God…listen… though he was a Son, yet learned obedience by the things which He suffered; 9 and having been made perfect, He became unto all them that obey Him the author of eternal salvation Heb 5:8-9 ASV


Father…please reveal the truth to me so I can be faithful today…In Jesus of Nazareth’s name amen.
