I am the chief of sinners…God save me!

Faithful is the saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief...1 Timothy 1:15. We were buried therefore with Him through baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we also might walk in newness of life. For if we have become united with Him in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection; knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away, that so we should no longer be in bondage to sin...Romans 6:4-6. And we know that to them that love God all things work together for good, even to them that are called according to His purpose. For whom He foreknew, He also foreordained to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren: and whom He foreordained, them He also called: and whom He called, them He also justified: and whom He justified, them He also glorified. What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us...Romans 8:28-31?

We are sinners who deserve punishment but thank God we have been washed in the blood and cleansed from every stain! I have been baptized and remaining faithful, are you? We are all the biggest sinners in our own eyes. We should be grateful for the favors that bless our lives and continually cleanse us from our sinful desires. I believe gratitude is something everyone needs being grateful for the life willingly sacrificed for us. For Jesus dying and being raised from the dead. For hearing the message and believing unto salvation by being baptized for the forgiveness of sin. Grateful for the message Jesus has died and was raised so we could always choose the right thing to do. Is that not the greatest news ever…Jesus died so we could always know the truth and choose the righteousness? That as long as we remain faithful, we will be resurrected into eternal life and not eternal punishment or death?

Jesus anointed while living for His burial…

Now when Jesus was in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper, there came unto him a woman having an alabaster cruse of exceeding precious ointment, and she poured it upon his head, as he sat at meat. But when the disciples saw it, they had indignation, saying, To what purpose is this waste? For this ointment might have been sold for much, and given to the poor. But Jesus perceiving it said unto them, Why trouble ye the woman? for she hath wrought a good work upon me. For ye have the poor always with you; but me ye have not always. For in that she poured this ointment upon my body, she did it to prepare me for burial. Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached in the whole world, that also which this woman hath done shall be spoken of for a memorial of her...Matthew 26:6-13.

The first to act on Jesus telling the disciples He was going to die was this woman. She prepared His body for burial by anointing Him with very expensive anointment. She did what she could…she loved the Lord as herself. Perhaps she thought I would rather smell great living so I will anoint Him so He will not stink dead or alive. Jesus said her story would be told everywhere the good news has been preached. She did what she could. How many of us fall under this same umbrella…we do what we can…with what we have…where we are at? Loving your neighbor is relatively simple treat everyone like they are Jesus. What have you done for Jesus…obedience is better than sacrifice…are you keeping His teachings by obeying the truth revealed unto you?

Prayer

Father thank you for sending Your Only Son to make a way of salvation to those of us who have fallen short of your Glory of Perfection please make a way of salvation for us and meet our soul’s deepest need…in Jesus of Nazareth’s name amen.

Do you have a closet full of clothes and no deeds in heaven…yes or no?

But when the king came in to behold the guests, he saw there a man who had not on a wedding-garment: and he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding-garment? And he was speechless. Then the king said to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and cast him out into the outer darkness; there shall be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth...Matthew 22:11-13. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ did put on Christ...Galatians 3:27. For we must all be made manifest before the judgment-seat of Christ; that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he hath done, whether it be good or bad...2 Corinthians 5:10. For many are called, but few chosen...Matthew 22:14.

Jesus Christ of Nazareth died and was raised from the dead…do you believe this fact…yes or no? Jesus died so you could morally never choose a wrong thing and always be supplied to do the right deed. You first must believe and be baptized in order to have you entrance or name written in heaven…it is how we get on the role and given the Holy Spirit to comfort us in our lives. (Mark 16:16, Acts 2:38-39) Then we must love God first and our neighbors second.

What is a good deed in heaven which we do down here?

Feeding a beggar…caring for or praying for a sick guy to be healed…supplying the needs of a widow or an orphan…helping the helpless? Do you have faith…then where is your deeds… To the pure all things are pure: but to them that are defiled and unbelieving nothing is pure; but both their mind and their conscience are defiled. They profess that they know God; but by their works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate...Titus 1:15-16.

Prayer

Father please meet our souls deepest needs to be clean and pure from evil influences in our lives…in Jesus of Nazareth’s name amen.
