One deed of repentance and the thief on the cross was saved…

After Jesus baptism but before his death on the cross…

What was Jesus of Nazareth’s message, when he was here on earth before He was delivered unto the death of the cross?

Mat 4:17, “From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”

The scene of the cross…

Luke 23:35-43, “And the people stood beholding. And the rulers also with them derided him, saying, He saved others; let him save himself, if he be Christ, the chosen of God.  (36)  And the soldiers also mocked him, coming to him, and offering him vinegar, (37) And saying, if thou be the king of the Jews, save thyself.  (38)  And a superscription also was written over him in letters of Greek, and Latin, and Hebrew, THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.  (39)  And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us.  (40)  But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation?  (41)  And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss.  (42)  And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.  (43)  And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.”

The repenting thief actions, he repented, he stopped the madness of people making fun of Jesus. He could not do much dying beside Jesus, but Jesus nailed to the cross, got one more soul saved, Because the one thief repented and obeyed Jesus message that he preached: Repent for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

So, then it is an obedient faith that saves, because even the devils believe and tremble… but a thief was saved by one deed of repentance in obeying Jesus message at life’s last dying breath.

God loves a cheerful giver but do you have to tithe or give ten percent…

And he looked up, and saw the rich men that were casting their gifts into the treasury. And he saw a certain poor widow casting in thither two mites. And he said, Of a truth I say unto you, This poor widow cast in more than they all: for all these did of their superfluity cast in unto the gifts; but she of her want did cast in all the living that she had...Luke 21:1-4.

But this I say, He that soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he that soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. Let each man do according as he hath purposed in his heart: not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver...2 Corinthians 9:6-7.

Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I have given order to the churches of Galatia, even so do ye. Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come...1 Corinthians 16:1-2.

God can do anything but fail. You cannot out give God. God does not need your money but wants your heart and mind. In the New Agreement with God and mankind called the New Testament of Christ there is no tithing law or a law requiring to give ten percent. We are to give as we have been prospered and to do so with a cheerful heart. God always gives more than we can imagine or expect. Money is a representative of time and effort. Let us give cheerfully and willingly not because we have to but because we want to donate to the work of the church or good cause feeding the poor and preaching the gospel or the good news of Christ.

Prayer

Father please help us and meet our soul’s deepest needs…we give You our hearts and minds to rule well in Jesus of Nazareth’s name amen.

Jesus does not want to be in your heart and life He wants to own it and rule it well…

I say unto you, that unto every one that hath (faithfulness) shall be given; but from him that hath not (no faithfulness), even that which he hath shall be taken away from him. But these mine enemies, that would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me...Luke 19:26-27.

If any man cometh unto me, and hateth not his own father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. Whosoever doth not bear his own cross (burden to be a Christian), and come after me, cannot be my disciple...Luke 14:26-27.

…having the eyes of your heart enlightened, that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, and what the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to that working of the strength of his might which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and made him to sit at his right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule, and authority, and power, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: and he put all things in subjection under his feet, and gave him to be head over all things to the church, which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all...Ephesians 1:18-23.

Jesus must be supreme ruler of your heart mind souls and spirits. Jesus does not just want to be in your life He wants to rule it will. Jesus does not want to be in your heart He wants to own and rule it. Will you give all to Jesus in repentance and follow the revealed truth by doing what is good right and true? Jesus has to be first place in your life…He is enthroned above and is the head of the church do not put anyone above Him.

Prayer

Father we surrender all to Jesus and ask He would rule us well we bring not an offering of money but our hearts and minds and lives and offer these to Him please meet our needs and grant us repentance…in Jesus of Nazareth’s name amen.
