Make your promises few but keep them faithfully…

Again, ye have heard that it was said to them of old time, You shalt not forswear yourself, but shalt perform unto the Lord your oaths: but I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by the heaven, for it is the throne of God; nor by the earth, for it is the footstool of his feet; nor by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King. Neither shalt you swear by your head, for you canst not make one hair white or black. But let your speech be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: and whatsoever is more than these is of the evil one...Matthew 5:33-37.

Ever made a promise you could not keep? I have. I try to keep all my promises without fail…but sometimes circumstances out do you and you become a liar. May God forgive me and you for any promises we have made that we cannot keep or which cannot be kept. Jesus said do not swear at all…that is a promise he is talking about or if God is involved then it is a vow. If You swear by God then you just have made a vow. Vows must be kept. Promises are between man and man. Vows are between God and man. For in many things we all stumble. If any stumbles not in word, the same is a perfect man, able to bridle the whole body also...James 3:2.

Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but such as is good for edifying as the need may be, that it may give grace to them that hear...Ephesians 4:29. in all things showing yourself an ensample of good works; in your doctrine showing uncorruptness, gravity, sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of us...Titus 2:7-8. Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer each one...Colossians 4:6.

I am the chief of sinners…God save me!

Faithful is the saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief...1 Timothy 1:15. We were buried therefore with Him through baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we also might walk in newness of life. For if we have become united with Him in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection; knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away, that so we should no longer be in bondage to sin...Romans 6:4-6. And we know that to them that love God all things work together for good, even to them that are called according to His purpose. For whom He foreknew, He also foreordained to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren: and whom He foreordained, them He also called: and whom He called, them He also justified: and whom He justified, them He also glorified. What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us...Romans 8:28-31?

We are sinners who deserve punishment but thank God we have been washed in the blood and cleansed from every stain! I have been baptized and remaining faithful, are you? We are all the biggest sinners in our own eyes. We should be grateful for the favors that bless our lives and continually cleanse us from our sinful desires. I believe gratitude is something everyone needs being grateful for the life willingly sacrificed for us. For Jesus dying and being raised from the dead. For hearing the message and believing unto salvation by being baptized for the forgiveness of sin. Grateful for the message Jesus has died and was raised so we could always choose the right thing to do. Is that not the greatest news ever…Jesus died so we could always know the truth and choose the righteousness? That as long as we remain faithful, we will be resurrected into eternal life and not eternal punishment or death?

Prayer

Father please grant us a grateful heart and mind and meet our soul’s deepest needs and give us the remedy for our sin and thank you for the grace to be forgiven…in Jesus of Nazareth’s name amen.

Check your preachers’ words with what is written in the bible…

despise not prophesyings (truth telling); prove all things; hold fast that which is good; abstain from every form of evil...1 Thessalonians 5:20-22. But there arose false prophets also among the people, as among you also there shall be false teachers, who shall privily bring in destructive heresies, denying even the Master that bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction...2 Peter 2:1. And be not fashioned according to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God...Romans 12:2.

Check your preachers’ words with what is written in the bible…

We are not to despise preaching unless it is false…but how will you know it is false unless you have a sound knowledge of the truth from Jesus? Prove all things hold fast to that which is good immediately following an encouragement to listen to someone telling forth truth. Many people claim to know the Jesus Christ of Nazareth but how many can say His name in truth? There are many voices or people out there claiming their message is Jesus but many are false. Even Jesus said many are called but few are chosen. We have to renew our minds with the truth from the New Testament of Christ so we can have a “Jesus said it” or a thus it is written vocabulary in all things concerning our conduct and faith towards God. We cannot follow our imaginations and please God but must follow sound reasoning and the truth found in the pages of the New Testament of Christ. So remember prove all things false or true and hold fast that which is the good and acceptable will of God.

How many preachers deny Jesus words and call Him a liar by saying you do not have to be baptized? For Jesus said… He that believes and is baptized shall be saved; but he that disbelieves shall be condemned...Mark 16:16. Have you been baptized into Christ death burial and resurrection…yes or no?

Prayer

Father please help us discern the truth from false preaching and grant us repentance where needed meeting our soul’s deepest needs to practice and learn the truth…in Jesus of Nazareth’s name amen.
