Contentment is wanting what you have…

You shall not covet…more than you have been given. Do you covet more than God has given you? or are you content? I know sometimes I want it all and a box of chocolates…but am grateful I have food, clothing, shelter and a job to help me sustain. Is it hard to see everything you have coming from God…and to want no more than what He has given? Jesus promises enough not a mansion in Malibu. Listen to what Jesus said… But if God doth so clothes the grass of the field, which to-day is, and to-morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? Be not therefore anxious, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? For after all these things do the Gentiles seek; for your heavenly Father knows that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first his kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Be not therefore anxious for the morrow: for the morrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof...Matthew 6:30-34.

 

So seek God’s will and not your own…seek God above all things today and tomorrow if the Lord does not come back today. If then you were raised together with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated on the right hand of God. Set your mind on the things that are above, not on the things that are upon the earth. For you died, and your life is hid with Christ in God...Colossians 3:1-3. Are you seeking wisdom…understanding…peace…reconciliation? Yes or no? We are told to go make it right with man so we can be right with God…listen… If therefore you are offering your gift at the altar, and there remember that thy brother hath aught (reason to accuse you of offense) against you, leave there your gift before the altar, and go your way, first be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift...Matthew 5:23-24. Are you at peace and reconciled with your brothers and sisters? Yes or no?

 

Perhaps you were the one offended or done wrong…

Put on therefore, as God's elect, holy and beloved, a heart of compassion, kindness, lowliness, meekness, longsuffering; forbearing one another, and forgiving each other, if any man have a complaint against any; even as the Lord forgave you, so also do ye: and above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfectness...Colossians 3:12-14.

 

Prayer

Father please grant us repentance wherever needed and help us to be right with our fellow man and You…please meet our soul’s deepest needs and heal our past mistakes…in Jesus of Nazareth’s name amen.

Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly are ravening wolves. By their fruits ye shall know them. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but the corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Therefore by their fruits ye shall know them...Matthew 7:15-20.


Do people around you practice the truth…yes or no…Do they practice Jesus teaching…yes or no? If they tell a lie then you cannot trust them with the truth unless they acknowledge the lie.


Not everyone that acknowledges Jesus…practice Jesus’s teachings of truth…

Not everyone that saith unto Me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy by Your name, and by Your name cast out demons, and by Your name do many mighty works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from Me, you that work iniquity (who do your own will and call it Mine)...Matthew 7:21-23.


Some people just paint it Jesus and will be rejected because they do not follow Jesus from the heart but put on a show to seem Christian about it.


Prayer

Father please help us from the heart practice the truth…please meet our soul’s deepest needs for Your law to be written on our hearts and in our minds…in Jesus of Nazareth’s name amen.

Pornography…want to see…what Jesus said about porn…

Jesus Christ said…

You have heard that it was said, You shalt not commit adultery: but I say unto you, that every one that looks on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart. And if your right eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out, and cast it from you: for it is profitable for you that one of your members should perish, and not your whole body be cast into hell. And if thy right hand causes you to stumble, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for you that one of your members should perish, and not your whole body go into hell...Matthew 5:27-30.


Jesus said to look at porn is the same thing as committing adultery…breaking one of the commandments of God...you shall not commit adultery. The Lust of the flesh…we have a promise that we can overcome our flesh’s desire…You are of God, my little children, and have overcome them: because greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world...1 John 4:4. Have you surrendered your flesh’s desire to Jesus and the Holy Spirit…yes or no? Will you give it to God…yes or no?


Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the vainglory of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passes away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abides forever...1 John 2:15-17. But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwelleth in you, He that raised up Christ Jesus from the dead shall give life also to your mortal bodies through His Spirit that dwelleth in you. So then, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh: for if ye live after the flesh, ye must die; but if by the Spirit ye put to death the deeds of the body, ye shall live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God...Romans 8:11-14.


We can overcome the porn we see advertised…and sometimes look for. We must pray and surrender to God our desires and He will supply our needs needing to be met for us to live a life pleasing to Him.


Prayer

Father please quench our desire for porn and masturbation and supply our flesh’s needs so we can not commit adultery with images of porn…heal our bodies and minds from the sin of our pasts…and meet our soul’s deepest needs…in Jesus of Nazareth’s name amen.
