Hear the good news of Jesus of Nazareth…Jesus Christ died on the cross and was raised from the dead so you could find forgiveness from God by turning to God in full surrender to the obedience of the truth. We must change our ways and turn and follow God ways. Jesus will reveal the truth to you and all you have to do is practice the truth. Listen to what Jesus said…

All things have been delivered unto Me of my Father: and no one knows the Son, save the Father; neither does any know the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son wills to reveal Him. Come unto me, all you that labor and are heavy laden (burdens), and I will give you rest. Take my yoke (teaching of the truth from God) upon you, and learn of Me; for I am meek (obedient) and lowly (humble) in heart: and you shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke (truth) is easy, and my burden is light...Matthew 11:27-30. Jesus saith unto him, I am the Way (to God), and the Truth, and the Life no one cometh unto the Father, but by Me...John 14:6. If you love me, you will keep my commandments...John 14:15.

Jesus said if you take His teachings on you then you will find rest for your souls or freedom from evil. How can your soul rest if you are fighting the devil? Jesus will protect you as you learn and practice the truth giving you rest for your soul. Does this sound like good news…yes or no? Jesus is the source of all truth and the way we come to God being reconciled through His teaching and sacrifice through His death and resurrection from the dead. Jesus gives eternal life to those who keep His commandments and the greatest commandment is to love God with all of your heart, mind, soul, spirit, and strength and the second is to love your neighbor as yourself (Mark 12:29-31). Will you read or re-read the New Testament of Christ to learn about Jesus and find rest for your soul…yes or no?

Prayer

Father please give us rest for our souls and a light and easy yoke as we learn about Jesus Your only Son and meet our soul’s deepest needs for repentance and mercy…in Jesus of Nazareth’s name amen.

Blessed are the Peacemakers…

Reminder obedience is learned through suffering…

Jesus said…Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you…

…(Jesus Christ) Though he were a Son, yet learned He obedience by the things which He suffered; And being made perfect, He became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey Him…

…For God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved. (Mat 5:9-12 KJV Heb 5:8-9 KJV Joh 3:16-17 KJV)

Exhortation to be a faithful Saint…a Soldier of Christ…

You therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. No man that wars entangles himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please Him who hath chosen him to be a soldier. And if a man also strives for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strives lawfully… ?

…My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into (different) divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing… Wherefore let him that thinketh he stands take heed lest he fall…

…There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, Who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry.

(2Ti 2:3-5 KJV Jas 1:2-4 KJV 1Co 10:12-14 KJV)

Exhortation to make Jesus’ table your only table…

… What say I then? that the idol is anything, or that which is offered in sacrifice to idols is anything? But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils. You cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of devils. Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than He? …

…Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw (near) nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double minded. Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He shall lift you up…

…Jesus said… If any man come to Me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after Me, cannot be my disciple.

(1Co 10:19-22 KJV Jas 4:7-10 KJV Luk 14:26-27 KJV)

Exhortation to be faithful to Jesus under trials…

And you have forgotten the exhortation which speaks unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when you art rebuked of Him: For whom the Lord loveth He chastens, and scourges every son whom He receives. If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chastens (discipline) not? But if you be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are you bastards, and not sons…

…Be you also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draws (near) nigh. Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest you be condemned: behold, the Judge stands before the door. Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience. Behold, we count them happy which endure. You have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy…

…For this is thankworthy, if a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering wrongfully. For what glory is it, if, when you be buffeted for your faults, you shall take it patiently? but if, when you do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God. For even hereunto were you called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow his steps: Who did no sin, neither was guile found in His mouth: Who, when He was reviled, reviled not again; when He suffered, He threatened not; but committed Himself to Him that judges righteously: Who His own Self bare our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.

(Heb 12:5-8 KJV 1Pe 2:19-25 KJV Jas 5:8-11 KJV)

Exhortation to be maintain good works until Jesus comes back…

Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus. And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labors; and their works do follow them…

… For the grace of God that bringeth salvation has appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ; Who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto Himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works…

… This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that you affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men. But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain. A man that is an heretic after the first and second admonition (encouragement to be faithful) reject; Knowing that he that is such is subverted, and sins, being condemned of himself.

(Rev 14:12-13 KJV Tit 2:11-14 KJV Tit 3:8-11 KJV)

The Soldier of Christ...A Christian Anthem.

I am a soldier of Christ. The Lord Jesus is my commanding officer. The Holy Bible is my code of conduct. Faith, prayer and the Word are my weapons of warfare. I have been taught the Word of God, trained by experience, tried by adversity and tested by fire. I am a volunteer in this army, and I am enlisted for eternity. I will retire in this army at time’s end, or die in this army, but I will not sell out, be talked out or be pushed out. I am a soldier of Christ. I am faithful, reliable, capable and dependable.

If my God needs me in Sunday school, to teach children, work with youth, help adults or just sit and learn, He can use me because I am here. I am in place, saluting my King, obeying His orders, praising His name and building up His Kingdom. I do not need to be cuddled, cradled or catered to. No one has to call me, remind me, write me, visit me, entice me or lure me.

I am a soldier of Christ. I am committed. I cannot have my feelings hurt badly enough to turn me around. I cannot be discouraged enough to be turned aside. I cannot lose enough to cause me to quit. When Jesus called me into His army, I had nothing. If I end up with nothing, I will break even. I will win. My God will supply all my needs. I am more than a conqueror. I will always triumph. I am a soldier of Christ. I can do all things through Christ. Demons cannot defeat me. People cannot disillusion me. Weather cannot weary me. Sickness cannot stop me. Battle cannot beat me. Money cannot buy me. Governments cannot silence me, and Hell cannot handle me. Even death cannot destroy me, for when my commander calls me from this battlefield, He will promote me to live with Him.

I am a soldier of Christ. I am marching, claiming victory. I will not give up. I will not turn around. I am a soldier marching Heaven bound. Here I stand. Will you stand with me?

Prayer

Father show us mercy and reveal the truth we need to correct ourselves in order to be right with You and meet our deepest needs as we learn to humbly obey You and Your Only Son…in Jesus of Nazareth’s name amen.

The Soldier of Christ...A Christian Anthem.
The Soldier of Christ...A Christian Anthem.

Our Creator does not tempt us at all…to do evil or sin…read a short devotional on overcoming temptation...

…Blessed is the man that endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord promised to them that love Him. Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God; for God cannot be tempted with evil, and He himself tempts no man: but each man is tempted, when he is drawn away by his own lust, and enticed (given opportunity). Then the lust, when it hath conceived, bears sin: and the sin, when it is full-grown, bringeth forth death…(Jas 1:12-15 ASV) Wherefore let him that thinks he stands take heed unless he fall. There has no temptation taken you but such as man can bear (any man can endure): but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that you are able; but will with the temptation make also the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. Wherefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry (anything drawing you away from Christ)…(1Co 10:12-14 ASV)…

…But I say, Walk by the Spirit, and you shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are contrary the one to the other; that you may not do the things that you would (without following Christ). But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law…(Gal 5:16-18)…But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deluding your own selves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a mirror: for he beholds (looks at) himself, and goes away (from the mirror), and straightway forgets what manner of man he was. But he that looks into the perfect law, the (law) of liberty, and so continues, being not a hearer that forgets but a doer that works (the will of Christ), this man shall be blessed in his doing…(Jas 1:22-25 ASV)

…Now the works of the flesh are manifest (made known like the goods on a ships manifest), which are these: fornication (sex between unmarried), uncleanness, lasciviousness (evil lusts), idolatry, sorcery, enmities (hostile), strife (variance to God’s will), jealousies (unholy stinginess), wraths, factions, divisions, parties, envying(s) (wanting others blessings), drunkenness, revellings (drunk parties)…and such like; of which I forewarn you, even as I did forewarn you, that they who practise such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God…But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering (patiently enduring), kindness, goodness, faithfulness, meekness (obedience), self-control; against such there is no law. And they that are of Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with the passions and the lusts thereof. If we live by the Spirit, by the Spirit let us also walk. Let us not become vainglorious (self-glory…promoting), provoking one another, envying one another…(Gal 5:19-26 ASV)

Pray with me?

Dear Holy Father…please help us to endure the temptations we each face and help us to supply the needs of other Christians…and meet our soul’s deepest needs…our spirit’s deepest needs…and heal our body and other wounds from our sinful past and please show us mercy and bless the faithful with grace, mercy, peace, joy, love, wisdom, understanding, and please reveal the knowledge of the truth to us so we can do what is right by You and Your only Son Jesus Christ…in Jesus of Nazareth’s name amen.
